I am not usually one to go to actual dispensaries because we have a ton of delivery options in LA, but a friend of mine who is a very seasoned smoker recommended that I go look at Mary Janes Hollywood.  Let’s start out by saying it was super easy to find and there was plenty of parking, they have a small lot but there is also street parking nearby.  I entered the building, which was cute and a good size, dropped my ID into the slot and was instantly told to come on in.  They weren’t too busy but did have a few customers in there, and plenty of budtenders to help out.  I was approached by a woman who was super nice and friendly.  I told her why I was there, because everyone has bad days and you can’t judge people based on that and she thanked me.

She brought out some of their pricier options and then some mid-priced options and explained each strain and the brand of the strains to me without hesitation.   She asked me what type of weed I usually go for and eliminated some options based on my preferences.  I smelled a bunch of different strains from a variety of well-known brands including RB26 California and Triple Seven, which are both popular in Los Angeles.  They had a ton of options for vape cartridges, wax, and edibles as well, and even had some Henry’s Prerolls available.

The person who helped me was super nice and gave me her thoughts on what was best and which strains I should try.  She also seemed to really know what she was talking about and that is always a good thing when it comes to budtenders.  I have been places in the past where the staff didn’t really know what to recommend me other than the ones that cost the most.  She was not pushy on what to buy and genuinely seemed like she wanted to help me.

As a first-time patient at this facility, I was also given a free sample of their in-house strain called Super Jack.  I have since smoked this and really enjoyed the taste and the effects of this strain.  I ended up purchasing their in-house strain called Sundae Driver, it is a sativa dominant hybrid that has a THC level of 24%.  All this sounded great to me.  I also purchased Plus sour watermelon gummies because I had heard of these before and wanted to give them a try.  They threw in not only that sample, but also a bag of Wally Drops, which are cannabis infused cough drops.  I had never heard of that before so I am excited to give those a try.

As for prices at this dispensary, it definitely varied on what you were getting.  They had both lower priced and higher priced strains, all of which smelled and looked great to me.  The cartridges and gummies were not too pricy either, which is always good.  The only downside I would say is that they only sell by the 1/8th or higher, so if you’re looking to just get a gram or two to try out, this isn’t the place to go.  However, if you don’t care about amount, I’d definitely recommend going to Mary Janes Hollywood.

Mary Janes also offers a rewards program through Baker software.  I had never heard of this but upon looking it up, I found that it was very popular.  It offers you rewards based on the products you buy often and that is a great way to get discounts.  It shows you the menu, how many points you have and what you can get with those points.  I am very excited to keep going here and see what kind of rewards I might get.  I know I sound like a child but from what I saw when I first signed up, it seemed like they offer really good stuff.

If you live in Los Angeles or are just here for a visit, I recommend you head over to Mary Janes Hollywood on Melrose Ave.  The weed I got was really good stuff and the staff were super friendly.  It was a great experience overall and I will definitely be going back there for more.
