One of my all-time favorite brands is the well-known brand LA Kush. I’ve tried a lot of their strains so when I saw the strain Black Gelato, I knew it would be another great one to try out. Black Gelato is an indica-dominant hybrid that is a cross between LA Sunset and Thin Mints. Black Gelato has a 22% THC level, making it hit hard and leave you feeling really good.
I used a new delivery service called CCA California Caregivers Alliance, located in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles. I had not used them before but was very happy with the service and overall experience. They have a ton of products such as flower, prerolls, and edibles. LA Kush has great packaging with a seal that says “no seal no-deal”, so you know it hasn’t been tampered with. They also have a lot of information on the box which is super helpful for those newer smokers. As soon as I opened the jar, I could immediately smell the sweet aroma of this strain. The buds were dense with fluffy pieces as you pull it apart. It was definitely sticky but once I got it into the grinder, it was easy to grind up.
With just one hit of the Black Gelato, I knew I was in love with the flavor. It was sweet like the smell but with a spicy kick to it. It is a very unique flavor that I am a huge fan of. It was not super harsh, I wasn’t coughing at all which I definitely enjoy. I’d say while this strain is an indica-dominant hybrid, it could be used for daytime or nighttime.
After a few hits, I felt it. I’d say this is better for experienced users, but newer users could try it out carefully. I smoked only a bowl or two and felt really good. My eyes were low and I could feel it in my head. This strain is definitely good for relaxing and hanging. After a little while, I felt a nice body buzz that calmed me down but didn’t quite couch lock me so I was still able to do things. I felt very happy and chill overall happy with this strain.
All in all, this strain is an excellent sleep aid and is good for people with anxiety. I love LA Kush so it is no surprise that Black Gelato can now be added to my favorites list. The taste and smell are so unique and made me keep going back for more. The overall presentation of the packaging as well as the weed itself was truly remarkable and shows what these brands can do.
