Gorilla Cookies had great reviews and so I decided to give it a try.
Gorilla Cookies is a sativa dominant hybrid that was created by Elev8 Seeds company. Gorilla Cookies comes from a mix of two legendary strains, Gorilla Glue #4 and one of my favorites Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, resulting in this incredible weed creation. Upon first opening the bag, I noticed that the smell was not super strong, but the weed looked beautiful. It was a light green color with deep green patches on it and many visible orange hairs. The weed also had a nice layer of resin on it, making it look quite lovely. It was trimmed nicely and looked like it had been grown and cured well. While the smell wasn’t strong, it was a nice smell when you got it. Gorilla Glue #4 has a very unique aroma to it so adding a bit of that cookies smell to it only made it more potent and special.
The nugs broke up pretty easily even though they were small and dense. While they broke up easily, it was a little bit harder to grind up, but not too bad. A bit of a downside is that for the amount of weed you put in, you don’t get a lot out of it. The smell got stronger as I broke up the weed and had an earthy air to it. The taste was much better than I was expecting based on the smell. It was earthy with a sweet undertone to it and was actually pretty delicious. Once you actually smoke and exhale the weed, the taste really hits you and leaves you wanting more.
The weed was a bit harsh to smoke but wasn’t too intense. I coughed a little bit but again, not the worst I’ve ever experienced. After smoking, I immediately felt the effects hit me, but it didn’t all hit me at once. I felt a tingly sensation down my body and knew this strain would hit a lot harder after some time. I felt overall good and relaxed at first, but then after a while, the other effects of this strain hit me harder and put me into a hazy state of mind. Throughout the night, I was both euphoric and at peace. I felt the sleepiness coming, but it didn’t immediately knock me out which I like. I just wanted to relax on my comfy couch and watch silly TV.
It is said that this strain can make you paranoid or dizzy, or give you a headache. The only two effects I actually experienced were dry mouth and dry eyes. So just be cautious of that. It is also said to make you feel relaxed, happy, euphoric, sleepy, and tingly. I definitely felt the tingly aspect but was also happy and relaxed. Eventually, I did get sleepy and was ready for bed. Gorilla Cookies is also said to relieve stress, depression, insomnia, pain, and headaches in some. I normally have a lot of back pain from sitting over my computer all day, and after smoking this strain, I honestly forgot about it. I truly felt so zoned out that my pain was just gone.
The way Gorilla Cookies was gradual even though the tingly sensation came pretty quickly. That body buzz feeling always prepares me for what’s to come and I was definitely not ready for the way this strain hit me. The other effects sort of happened over time until I was ready to pass out. My mind was clear of any thoughts and the tingles down my body put me into a couch-lock position.
Gorilla Cookies is not something I would have normally ordered, but I am so glad I did. It surprised me how strong and how quickly this strain hit me. I felt completely at ease and ready to relax for the night, and I also got a great night’s sleep, just saying. This Elev8 Seeds company product is a perfect blend of two of my favorite strains and did not disappoint at all. If you see this strain, definitely give it a try to have a chill evening followed by a wonderful night’s sleep.
