When you hear about a weed strain called Mint Cookies n Cream, you pretty much already know it’s going to be worth trying out. This strain was recommended to me by a friend and then again by an employee of Fly Delivery in Los Angeles, which is where I ordered from this time. He told me that this strain runs out all the time for them because it is so popular and that I should get it while they had it in stock. Since these guys usually know what they’re talking about, or at least they should, I took the recommendation to try this weed out. They were quick to deliver and the driver was super nice so I will probably use this delivery service again.
Upon opening the bag that it was sealed in, I could immediately smell the sweet vanilla aroma of this strain, and that alone got me so excited to find out more. The bud was dense but not so dense that it was hard to break up. I actually found it quite easy to break up and get into the grinder. The weed had a marvelous dark green coat with bright purple spots all over it. It was trimmed nicely and looked overall beautiful. The sweet smell filled the room before I even started grinding the weed up. It was clear from the start that I was certainly going to enjoy this strain.
While the aroma of the weed was already amazing in my opinion, after it was ground up, the scent began to take over the room and I did not mind that at all. It had a candy-like aroma to it, with vanilla and earthy undertones that made it just right. I honestly kept putting my face back to the weed to smell it again. I couldn’t get enough of it.
This wonderful hybrid strain is a mixture of Starfighter and the infamous Girl Scout Cookies and comes from the company Exotic Genetix. Mint Cookies n Cream can have THC levels up to 24% which is definitely on the higher side of the scale. This strain is said to be one of the strongest ones around, making it a popular choice for daytime smokers. After only smoking a little, I felt super relaxed and in a good mood. I also felt happy and generally in a euphoric state of mind.
The overall effects of Mint Cookies n Cream are said to be helping relieve stress, depression, pain, appetite loss, and insomnia. It is also said that this strain leaves you feeling relaxed, happy, euphoric, uplifted, and even a little giggly. While I didn’t personally experience any of these, the downsides to this strain are dry mouth, dry eyes, dizziness, paranoia, and headaches. I maybe had a bit of dry mouth, but I generally drink a lot of water so I can’t say for sure if it was from the weed or not.
One of the side effects I did sort of feel was the hunger, I definitely went for snacks more than once. Thankfully, it was not an overpowering hunger, it was more of a happy snacky feeling. In my opinion, this is one of the best-tasting strains I’ve had in a while. It is just a perfect mixture of sweetness and earthiness that I couldn’t get enough of. The other good news about this strain is that while it was a bit harsh, it wasn’t too bad. I could smoke as much as I wanted and I was only coughing a little bit. I don’t mind when the weed is a little harsh as long as it’s not too intense. I am not a fan of those coughing attacks you can get from some strains.
At first, I wasn’t sure if it even hit me but after about 15 minutes, I found myself to be in a euphoric state of mind. Throughout the day, I felt super at ease and was able to get my work done without a ton of distractions. I found myself inspired to do the work I had to do and felt that I could plow through it while keeping my creativity intact. I like when a weed strain has effects that you can feel but that don’t overpower you too much. I definitely felt that with Mint Cookies n Cream, as I did feel good but I could also focus and get all my stuff done.
This strain is extremely flavorful and smells wonderful before, during, and after smoking it. I found that the vanilla flavor was so unique and made this strain stand out for me. The smoke itself tasted so good that I couldn’t get enough of it. I just wanted to keep smoking. The high itself was lovely as well, it didn’t make me feel too crazy, instead, it kept me relaxed and uplifted throughout the day. I find that to be a great quality of some strains because when you are trying to work, it can get tough if you are too high.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this strain to people who suffer from pain or appetite loss, as I truly believe it helped me with those two issues. I believe the smell and flavor speak for themselves, meaning that once you open the jar, you’ll be hooked. Mint Cookies n Cream isn’t quite my favorite weed of all time, but I did enjoy the feeling it gave me and the overall effects I had throughout the day. If you like a sweet vanilla flavor with an extra hint of earthy goodness, I’d definitely say this is one you’ll want to try.
